About Burns Beach:
Burns Beach, is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located 34 kilometres (21 mi) north of Perth's central business district. It is part of the City of Joondalup in the north of the state. Although Burns Beach once stood as a small coastal village, it had been isolated for years, and it is now a popular hang gliding location. The Midland Railway Company originally owned the land at Burns Beach. As a result of a request from 50 local residents, the Wanneroo Road Board (later to become City of Wanneroo) was granted a request for a 20-hectare (49-acre) park for camping and a health resort in 1908. Local residents had been using the area since the 1920s, when it was called Burns Beach after the sheep farmer who used the area.
