On the edges of Connolly you'll find many homes, but the ones around Connolly Golf Club are typically bigger and more affluent. John Connolly, who owned land in the area in 1838, was credited with naming the suburb. Private Connolly joined the 63rd Regiment in 1829 and worked on farms at Upper Swan and Bindoon after he was discharged in 1834.
